Improve Weight Loss Chances With These 7 Super Foods

January 12, 2019

We have all heard and seen many different people talking about the best way to lose weight and how the only way to do this is to create a regular calorie deficit every week.  This is obviously true but there are ways to create this deficit in the right way and actually give you an added boost while doing it.

If you are currently overweight then the chances are that your diet makeup is not particularly healthy which means that if you are continuing to eat the same way but just less of it to try and create your calorie deficit then you are probably not going to be making the best progress in your weight loss goals.

By improving some of the foods you are consuming to these “super foods” they will actually work with your body in helping to improve the nutrients and body functions which will all help to provide consistent and sustained weight loss through the calorie deficit you are creating.

So here are the 7 Super Foods:

Blueberries

Blueberries are packed full of vitamins, fibre, minerals, and antioxidants. The antioxidants they contain help to boost your metabolism which is great for improving weight loss. They also help the digestive system which means it helps to eliminate waste faster from your body.  Blueberries also have far fewer calories and sugar than other fruits which would make them a perfect for topping for your morning breakfast?

Avocados

People tend to avoid having fats when they are dieting, but this could be a real mistake? As saturated fats such as butter are the ones to avoid not all fats as the body does need some fats.

Non-saturated fats are essential for a healthy weight loss diet and avocados are a perfect source of these fats.  They help to reduce hunger, they are packed full of fibre, vitamins and monounsaturated fats which can help reduce bloating in the stomach and are also pretty low in calories.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds have become a high flyer in the super food category over the last few years and for some real justified reasons. These little tiny seeds are jam packed with carbohydrates, antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and calcium. This makes them a real gem when adding them into your daily diet.

Apples

Yes you have read correctly the very common and un-exciting apple is actually a very good fruit when it comes to helping your achieve your weight loss goals.  Apples are packed with phytonutrients, dietary fibre, antioxidants and various vitamins. Apples also have a reasonably low glycaemic index which means that apples will turn to fat in the body much slower than other fruits will.

Kale

Kale has risen to the lofty heights as one of the most popular superfoods within recent years and I would have to say that it is justified.  Kale contains so many healthy elements such as vitamins A, C, K, minerals such as potassium, calcium and a good dose of fibre and very few calories.  A whole cup of kale would only contain around 35 calories which is nothing for what you get to eat.  This means that you feel like you have had plenty to eat which contains very few calories, but makes you feel fuller for longer and helps improve your weight loss chances.

Green Tea

Green tea is great for weight loss whether it’s by drinking it or taking green tea supplements as it boosts your metabolism, helps improve your workouts, contains various anti-oxidants and is especially good at helping lose belly fat.  You should definitely try drinking green tea more often, but definitely if you are looking to lose weight!

Almonds

The final gem in our super food list is the mighty almond.  Almonds are packed full with a range of non-saturated fats, minerals and vitamins which include copper, magnesium and vitamin E.

Almonds are also very good for reducing your cholesterol.  Almonds are very healthy option, but please be aware that they do contain a fair amount of calories.  As long as you eat these as a controlled healthy snack then they are a great way to help when out on the go not to get tempted into snacking on something you shouldn’t and can really help you improve and maintain your weight loss.

If you find it difficult to eat these types of food then you could also consider supplements as these are a great way to increase the vitamins and minerals you put into your body without having to physically eat actual foods that you do not like.
